Prestigious Water Supply Schemes

WATER SUPPLY SCHEME FOR SHIMLA TOWN

Water supply scheme for Shimla town was constructed in the year 1875. Thereafter, its augmentation was done in 1889, 1914, 1923, 1974,1982,1992 and 2008.

42 Million Liters water is required per day during summers whereas only 30 Million Liters of water is available. Thus there is a shortage of 12 Million Liter of water during the peak summer months.

Rehabilitation and Source Level Augmentation of various schemes in Changer Area in Tehsil Dehra, Khundian, Jaisinghpur and Palampur in District Kangra.

In order to provide permanent drinking water supply and to avoid deployment of tankers/tractors, the Rehabilitation and Source Level Augmentation of various schemes in Changer has been approved vide Principal Secretary (IPH) letter No.IPH-B(F)3-35/2005 dated 31.3.2008 for Rs.68.33 crore. The scheme has been designed at the rate of 70 liters per head and 10 liters per student per day. Total 398 habitations (306 NC + 92 PC) of 53 Panchayats are proposed to be covered from this scheme. The present population of these habitations is 64412 persons + 17965 students and the ultimate as on 2027 will be 85803 persons + 23939 students.

The water source of the scheme is percolation wells 6 Nos. along right bank of River Beas and discharge is 30 LPS of each percolation well. The villages/habitations proposed to be covered under this schemes have been found water scarcity area and huge number of tankers and tractors are deployed to supplement the drinking water demand in summer season.

On completion of this scheme, sufficient drinking water supply is likely to be provided to all habitations of 53 Panchayats without deploying tankers/tractors in summer seasons also.

Providing WSS to NC/PC Habitations under Jaswan Pragpur area in tehsil Dehra & Jaswan District Kangra H.P. (Source level augmentation ).

The Water Supply Scheme has been approved vide Principal Secretary (IPH) letter No.IPH-B(F)3-35/2006 dated 17.1.2009 for Rs.39.23 crore. Total 95 villages and 284 habitations (36 NC + 224 PC+24 FC) of 38 Panchayats are proposed to be covered from this scheme. The present population of these habitations is 50157 persons + 11361 students and the ultimate population is 66834 persons + 15138 students.

The water source of the scheme is percolation wells 2 Nos. and 14 No. tube wells. The villages/habitations proposed to be covered under this schemes have been found water scarcity area and huge number of tankers and tractors are deployed to supplement the drinking water demand in summer season.

On completion of this scheme, sufficient drinking water supply is likely to be provided to all habitations of 38 Panchayats without deploying tankers/tractors in summer seasons also.

Providing WSS to various PC habitations in District Bilaspur. (SH: Source level augmentation of various LWSS/WSS under Sadar, Ghumarwin and Jhandutta Blocks from Kol Dam).

The Water Supply Scheme has been approved vide Principal Secretary (IPH) letter No.IPH-B(F)3-5/2006 dated 27.9.2009 for Rs.64.66 crore. Total 180 villages and 584 habitations of 32 Panchayats in Sadar, Ghumarwin and Jhandutta Blocks are proposed to be covered from this scheme. The present population of these villages/habitations is 70519 persons + 2757 students and the ultimate population is 93967 persons +3674 students.

The villages/habitations proposed to be covered under this schemes have been found water scarcity area and huge number of tankers and tractors are deployed to supplement the drinking water demand in summer season.

On completion of this scheme, sufficient drinking water supply is likely to be provided to all habitations of 32 Panchayats without deploying tankers/tractors in summer seasons also.

Construction of LWSS to Cover NC/PC habitations Arki Constituency from Gamber Khad in Tehsil Arki, District Solan (H.P.).

The Water Supply Scheme has been approved vide Principal Secretary (IPH) letter No.IPH-B(F)3-2/004dated 31.3.2010 for Rs.28.80 crore. Total 248 habitations are proposed to be covered from this scheme. The present population of these habitations is 28695 persons and the ultimate population is 37935 persons. Existing 85 Water Supply schemes will be augmented through this Scheme.
On completion of this scheme, sufficient drinking water supply is likely to be provided to these habitations without deploying tankers/tractors in summer seasons also.


LWSS from Beas River for augmentation of sources of various LWSS of Barsar area (Nadaunta Constituency) in Distt. Hamirpur

The scheme has been planned to augment the 16 existing water supply schemes of Nadaunta Constituency to provide drinking water @ 70 LPCD till year 2030. The estimated cost of this scheme is worked out Rs.40.12 crore approximately. These 16 water supply schemes cover 197 habitations having 45827 persons ((In year 2030).
