MLA from 2003- onwards, Elected to State Legislative in March, 2003; re-elected in 2007 from Santoshgarh Assembly and 2012 & 2017, 2022 again re-elected from Haroli Assembly Constituency.
Journalist turned politician.

Remained Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Housing & Health's and Chairman Housing Board, 2008-2012; Industry Minister with charge of Labour & Employment, Parliamentary Affairs, Information & Public Relations, December, 2012 to December, 2017 and Leader Congress Legislative Party Leader of Opposition between 2017-2022.
Elected for the fifth consecutive term in December, 2022 and took oath as first Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on 11th December, 2022 and also hold the Ministry of Jal Shakti Vibhag, Transport,Language,Arts & culture and Co-operation.
Favorite Pastime: Writing, reading, listening to music and playing badminton.
Awards: Recipient of the ‘Best Coverage Award' for reporting Assembly proceedings during the year, 1994-95.
